A Legacy Yet to Be Defined

Amanda Vandervort’s tenure at the helm of the USL Super League, which launched in 2023, has not yet been marked by major milestones that have captured significant media attention. The league, which aims to grow professional women’s soccer in the United States, continues to establish itself gradually on the national sports scene. Vandervort leaves behind a growing structure, but her impact as president will likely be assessed in the coming months. The USL Super League, currently composed of eight teams, plans to expand its franchise count in the coming years. Its stated goal is to enhance the visibility of women’s soccer and provide a high-level competitive framework for American players.

Next Steps for the USL

The USL has not disclosed the selection criteria for Amanda Vandervort’s replacement. As a key player in the development of professional soccer in the United States, the league will now need to manage its transition to ensure continuity in its operations. Ongoing competitions, such as the USL Championship regular season, are proceeding as scheduled. Fans can stay updated on the USL Super League and other USL competitions by visiting the organization’s official website, which provides regularly updated information.
