Barcelona and Real Madrid interested in two Arsenal players, according to multiple media outlets. The Catalan club is reportedly considering a transfer for striker Viktor Gyökeres, while Real Madrid is closely monitoring midfielder Martín Zubimendi.

Barcelona looking for a replacement for Ferran Torres

Barcelona has reportedly identified Viktor Gyökeres, Arsenal’s striker, as an option to replace Ferran Torres, who joined Paris Saint-Germain. According to reports from El Chiringuito TV, the Catalan club wants to assess the player’s situation before entering discussions with Arsenal, with the Premier League season set to begin in less than a week. At 28 years old, Gyökeres joined Arsenal during the 2025 summer transfer window for an estimated fee of €50 million. His profile has caught Barcelona’s attention as the club seeks to bolster its attack following Torres’ departure to France.

Real Madrid targeting midfielder Zubimendi

Real Madrid is also eyeing an Arsenal player: Martín Zubimendi. According to TEAMtalk, discussions have already taken place with the representatives of the 27-year-old midfielder, whom manager José Mourinho is keen to sign. Zubimendi, who was linked with Chelsea this summer, joined Arsenal last summer for €60 million and could leave the London club if a suitable offer is made. The Spanish midfielder played all 38 Premier League matches last season, helping Arsenal secure the title. His technical ability and consistency make him a prime target for Real Madrid.

Other ongoing or potential transfers

Several other movements are being discussed in the world of football. In São Paulo, interest has been shown in striker Jamie Vardy, who is now a free agent after leaving Cremonese, relegated to Serie B. The 39-year-old Brazilian is taking his time to consider his options before making a final decision. Meanwhile, Chelsea and Manchester United are tracking Manu Koné, a midfielder from AS Roma. The 25-year-old player, recently linked with Atlético Madrid, has drawn interest from multiple clubs, including Premier League sides and teams from the Saudi Pro League. Inter Milan is reportedly preparing a new offer for Curtis Jones, a Liverpool midfielder. The Italian club is said to be proposing an initial fee of €30 million plus bonuses, with discussions expected this week. Jones, 25, did not feature in Liverpool’s two pre-season friendlies against Como over the weekend. Other rumors involve Savinho, who is said to have reached an agreement with Tottenham for a six-year contract, as well as Liverpool’s interest in Bradley Barcola, a Paris Saint-Germain player. The English club has also been in contact with representatives of Ibrahim Mbaye, another PSG player. Getafe is reportedly in talks to sign Stefan Bajcetic, a Liverpool midfielder. Napoli continues to monitor Gabriel Jesus, Arsenal’s striker, but will first need to offload a player before finalizing their interest. Finally, Roma appears close to completing the transfer of Rodrigo Mora, an attacking midfielder from Porto.
