Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) announced on Tuesday that Ousmane Dembélé will be rested for the rest of the week, by mutual agreement with the player.
The French forward will therefore not take part in his team's away trip to Lille, scheduled for Friday for the second matchday of Ligue 1. This decision comes as the Parisian club begins a new season in the league.
A return expected next week
According to the PSG statement, Ousmane Dembélé will resume training with the group next week. His absence should therefore be only temporary, to recover or prepare as best as possible for the rest of the season. This rest period adds to the numerous adjustments made by PSG at the start of the season. The Parisian club, often cited among the Ligue 1 favorites, continues to carefully manage its key players to avoid injuries and preserve its star players. For the record, PSG has already won its first match of the season against Strasbourg (5-0) and is now aiming for another away victory. Dembélé's absence could influence the team selection chosen by Luis Enrique for this trip.
