Enoch, the horse from John and Thady Gosden's stable, returns to the track at Lingfield Park this weekend for the Novice Stakes, a race for 3-year-old horses that have never won a competition. A son of Frankel, Enoch secured his first victory at Newmarket in September 2025. His owner and trainer, the Gosden brothers, are banking on him to secure a second win in two outings. Jockey William Buick, who will ride him for the first time, could be an added advantage for this promising horse.

A race to watch among others at Lingfield

At Lingfield Park, the Kachy Stakes is one of the highlights of the weekend. In the Download The At The Races App Novice Stakes, Enoch is not the only horse to watch. Andrew Balding has entered Black Chiffon, which won its first race at Salisbury before finishing fourth at Kempton. With odds of 85, this horse could capitalize on its physical condition to shine. Jockey Rob Horny will be crucial to its performance. Among the other contenders, Colonnade has shown good form in its first two outings and could feature prominently. The race promises to be tight, with several horses capable of causing upsets. At Ffos Las, Blue Hercules, rated 86, faces five rivals in the BNI Elli Maiden Stakes. The horse, trained by William Muir and Chris Grassick, has yet to win a race despite six attempts. Jockey Lewis Edmunds is banking on an improvement in its recent form, particularly after its efforts at Ascot. Neswick, which finished third on its debut in April, returns after a break and could make progress. At Newton Abbot, Gore Point bids to extend its unbeaten run to five in a Handicap Chase. The six-year-old, trained by Anthony Honeyball, has won its last four races, including three on this course. Despite stepping up in class, it remains the favourite to continue its streak. Among the other horses to watch, Centara, last year’s winner of this race, returns after mixed performances. Breaking Cover, which beat it here last summer, and Gower Prince, winner of its last outing, are also in the mix. Obsessedwithyou, which has finished in the first two in its last seven starts, could confirm its consistency.

A busy weekend of racing across the UK

The racing programme this weekend extends beyond Lingfield, Ffos Las and Newton Abbot. At Southwell, several contests are drawing attention. In a handicap, Dublin Bay is the favourite, while Night Of Gold, an 800,000-guinea yearling, makes its debut for the Bow Echo stable. At Saratoga, a competitive card is also on offer for racing fans. Turf enthusiasts can follow all these fixtures to uncover the future stars of British racecourses. The performances over this weekend could highlight horses with bright prospects ahead.
