RCD Espanyol is on the verge of finalizing a new signing for their team. 22-year-old French midfielder Issiaka Kamate could join the Catalan club from Inter Milan. According to information provided by Matteo Moretto, the player is close to signing with the Pericos. The transfer would cost Espanyol €3 million, with the club acquiring 50% of the player's rights. Issiaka Kamate, born in Aulnay-sous-Bois in 2004, arrives at a club looking to strengthen its midfield. He would be the fifth summer signing for the Blanc i Blau, following the arrivals of Calatrava, Moscardo, Hartman, and Unai Núñez. The young Frenchman, regarded as a promising player, stands out for his physical commitment and versatility across multiple positions. The Catalan club will not acquire the full rights to the player, as Inter Milan will retain 50% of the economic rights, as confirmed by the Spanish daily press. This deal allows the Italian club to avoid fully parting ways with their young talent. During the recently concluded season, Issiaka Kamate played for Inter Milan’s Sub-23 side in Serie C, scoring five goals and providing three assists in 33 matches. His profile also caught the attention of the technical staff, earning him a debut with the first team in February, where he played as a right-back and provided an assist. These performances convinced the Catalan club to take an interest in him. Issiaka Kamate thus represents an additional option for Manolo González, who aims to bolster his squad with young and dynamic players. With the transfer window drawing to a close, Espanyol could soon make the deal official. Negotiations have been conducted discreetly, but both parties now appear close to reaching a definitive agreement.
