Nottingham Forest have officially announced the signing of Daniel Munoz from Crystal Palace for a fee of £22 million. The Colombian right-back, who won the FA Cup and the Conference League with the Eagles, has signed a three-year contract after two and a half years at Selhurst Park.
He scored 11 goals in 109 appearances for Palace. Munoz could make his Premier League debut against Tottenham Hotspur as early as this Saturday. Forest’s new signing aligns with the club’s European ambitions. Munoz, who has 51 caps for Colombia, won the Community Shield with Palace in 2025. His arrival follows that of Liam Delap, a club-record £50 million signing. Forest, who reached the Europa League semi-finals, is banking on his European experience to bolster the squad. The club has shown signs of progress in the Premier League, despite a shaky start to the season with two opening defeats—against Leeds in the Carabao Cup and in the Premier League.
A bold vision for a rebuilding club
Munoz expressed his excitement upon joining: *“I’m really thrilled because I see so much talent. Forest is a team with great players, great qualities, and great skills on the pitch. I can’t wait to get to work to help my new teammates, and I think we’re going to achieve great things.”* The Colombian full-back highlighted the club’s goals: *“This is a club that has struggled a lot in recent years, fighting hard. It reached the Europa League semi-finals, and I think it has even bigger ambitions for the future. That’s what I love about Forest, and that’s why I chose to come here.”*
A defensive reinforcement in search of stability
George Syrianos, Forest’s football director, praised Munoz’s contributions: *“Daniel has shown strong performances in the Premier League and in European competitions. We are confident he has the mentality and ambition to make a significant impact at the club.”* Forest, who drew 2-2 with Liverpool this weekend, is looking to bounce back after a difficult start to the season. Munoz’s arrival could help strengthen a defense in need of stability.
