Content creator Good Good Golf has decided to withdraw from title sponsorship of a PGA Tour event scheduled in Austin in November 2026. This decision follows the publication of a controversial video, which was quickly removed, showing a man pushing a woman to the ground to prevent her from touching a new Callaway driver.

In a statement released on Thursday, August 27, Good Good Golf explained that it made this decision after discussions with the PGA Tour. "After careful consideration and discussions with the PGA Tour, we have decided to withdraw as the title sponsor of the Austin event this fall. We recognize that we have work to do as an organization, and our priority now is our team, our culture, and learning from this situation."

A video deemed unacceptable and quickly removed

The video in question, shared on social media, showed a man violently pushing a woman who was trying to grab her new Callaway driver. After widespread criticism, the content was removed. Good Good Golf issued an apology via a message on X (formerly Twitter): "We posted a video that did not reflect our values. We have removed it and sincerely apologize." The group, launched in 2020 on YouTube, had set out to make golf more inclusive. Callaway Golf, an associated partner in this controversy, also responded. The equipment manufacturer cut ties with Good Good Golf and announced a $1 million (£736,000) donation to support organizations combating violence against women. "We have deeply reflected on the pain and disappointment caused by the video we shared. We have heard poignant testimonies from people who have experienced violence, reminding us that this issue affects too many lives," Callaway said in a statement.

The PGA Tour validates the decision and maintains the tournament

The PGA Tour welcomed Good Good Golf's withdrawal, confirming that the Austin tournament would proceed as planned from November 12 to 15, 2026. "We were informed of Good Good Golf's decision to withdraw as title sponsor. We support their choice to focus on their organization and future actions," the PGA Tour said in a statement. The organization reaffirmed its commitment to promoting an inclusive environment in golf for all. Callaway also announced that it had strengthened its approval processes to prevent such an incident from happening again. "Violence against women is unacceptable and must never be trivialized, normalized, or used for entertainment," the manufacturer stressed.
