A private jet from Brighton spotted heading to Liverpool fuels speculation over possible Yankuba Minteh transfer.

A flight that has got Reds supporters talking

Sky News journalist Nicholas Bieber shared on X (formerly Twitter) that a private jet had been scheduled to depart Brighton Airport bound directly for Liverpool. The timing of the flight immediately sparked a wave of speculation among Liverpool supporters about a potential arrival of Gambian midfielder Yankuba Minteh, who is currently contracted to Brighton & Hove Albion. “Private jet about to depart Brighton for Liverpool?? Maybe linked to Minteh-Liverpool talks?” he posted on X. However, Bieber quickly tempered fans’ excitement with a more nuanced update. He clarified that, in the absence of a signed “Here We Go” confirmation from transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, the trip was far more likely to involve club representatives, agents or officials discussing contract negotiations rather than the player himself. “As we haven’t had a ‘here we go’ from @FabrizioRomano yet, this flight is more likely to be agents or club officials in talks rather than Minteh heading to Liverpool for a medical… more to come,” he added.

A player still recovering

At 22 years old, Yankuba Minteh has been sidelined since undergoing leg surgery. Any travel or medical procedure for the player is therefore tightly controlled, making an immediate arrival in Liverpool unlikely. The activity around the flight coincides with reports that Liverpool’s second bid for Minteh has also been rejected. Brighton’s Seagulls are holding firm on a valuation close to £70 million to part ways with their dynamic attacker. After an initial £50 million offer was turned down, the Reds submitted a higher bid, but Brighton remains steadfast on its valuation.

Hope still alive at Anfield

Despite Brighton’s uncompromising stance, the mood around Anfield remains optimistic. Liverpool’s recruitment hierarchy believes a compromise can still be reached before the transfer window closes. Minteh is said to be open to joining Liverpool, which could help advance talks between the two Premier League clubs. The coming days are therefore set to be decisive. For now, the private jet from Brighton to Liverpool remains intriguing, but it would be premature to see it as confirmation of an imminent Minteh arrival at Anfield.
