Julián Álvarez’s return to Atlético Madrid was marked by heavy media presence. The Argentine player resumed training this Tuesday at the Ciudad Deportiva de Majadahonda, under the lenses of photographers and cameras. Diego Pablo Simeone and his technical staff were also present to welcome the world champion.

The exercises began around 9 a.m., with a session divided into several groups. Julián Álvarez trained alongside Koke, Lemar, Grimaldo, Baena, Giuliano, Llorente, and Pubill. Meanwhile, other players returning from South Korea were working on a different field. Only Sorloth’s absence was noted. Simeone then gathered his players on field number 4 to prepare for Friday’s match against Marseille. The goal was to prepare for the season opener against Málaga at the Metropolitano. The Argentine coach worked on different game situations with two distinct teams. Initially, the team with bibs was composed of Domínguez, Le Normand, Hancko, Grimaldo, Giuliano, Koke, Barrios, Arnau, Kang-in Lee, and Lookman. The other group, without bibs, consisted of Llorente, Pubill, Giménez, Dani Martínez, Carlos Martín, Hjulmand, Cardoso, Baena, Lemar, and Julián. The latter thus trained alongside Llorente, Pubill, Hjulmand, Baena, and other potential starters. Simeone then adjusted the lineup, deploying a three-man defense with Domínguez, Le Normand, and Hancko. Giuliano and Grimaldo completed the wings. In midfield, Hjulmand, Koke, and Barrios formed the central trio. Up front, Kang-in and Lookman were positioned as strikers. This team could thus be fielded for the match against Marseille. To conclude the session, Gabi worked with the Rojiblancos attackers on shooting accuracy. The training was marked by Julián Álvarez’s return and the world champions, with intensity noted by the technical staff. Simeone and his team seem to have very clear ideas about the level of demand expected for this start to the season. The Argentine player, who had undergone medical exams before resuming training, thus confirmed his gradual integration into the group. His return coincides with preparations for the first official match of the season, which will see Atlético Madrid face Málaga Barça and Atlético clash over Julián Álvarez. This comeback comes in a context where Atlético seeks to combine experience and youth, with players like Julián Álvarez bringing their international expertise. The Madrid-based club is banking on rigorous preparation to tackle the new La Liga campaign in the best possible way.
