The UEFA Champions League draw takes place today, and Spanish daily Marca has been able to gather the opinion of Harry Kane, the current European Golden Shoe winner. The English player, speaking during the German Super Cup between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, named PSG as the favorite for the upcoming edition. "I think PSG are the number one favorite, as they have won it two years in a row," he stated. He then cited other contenders such as Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Real Madrid, and FC Barcelona, believing that "all the big clubs will be there."

Defending champions PSG in the spotlight

Harry Kane justified his choice by highlighting the recent dominance of the Parisian club on the European stage. "PSG have won it twice in a row, that’s a strong argument," he added. When asked about his team’s ambitions, Bayern Munich, he acknowledged that the Bavarians had a good European season last year despite a semi-final exit against PSG. "We had a really good campaign in Europe. We lost to a great team like PSG, but by a very narrow margin," he noted. Kane also discussed his club’s preparation for this new edition. "From day one, we know that the players and the management have the same mentality. Last season is behind us, and now it’s about fighting for this one," he explained. The Champions League remains one of Bayern’s main objectives for this season.

A long and demanding season

The English player reminded that the competition has only just begun. "We are at the start of everything. We are at the foot of the mountain, and there is a long way to go," he said. He outlined the road ahead: "There are many matches in front of us, eight games in the group stage, and then of course the knockout phase." Kane also sought to temper expectations: "We know that the other big clubs are also very motivated. It’s an open competition, and anything can happen." He concluded by emphasizing the importance of consistency: "We need to take it step by step, game by game."
