Manchester United enter negotiations with FC Barcelona to sign defender Alejandro Balde, according to ESPN FC sources. English clubs are active as the transfer window nears its close, while Chelsea could receive an offer from Manchester City for Enzo Fernández. Discussions around Barcola have also resumed.

Balde in Manchester United's sights

According to Nicolo Schira, Manchester United are interested in 22-year-old left-back Alejandro Balde. The Red Devils' management has already contacted his agent, Jorge Mendes, to discuss a potential transfer. ESPN FC sources indicate that the club has been closely monitoring Balde's situation due to doubts over Luke Shaw's ability to play three matches a week in the Premier League and Champions League. United had also scouted Newcastle United earlier in the transfer window. Meanwhile, Barcelona could part ways with the young Spanish international, whose contract runs until 2028. No official offers have been made yet, but discussions could accelerate in the coming days.

Enzo Fernández, Manchester City's top target

Fabrizio Romano confirms that Manchester City are preparing an offer for Enzo Fernández, Chelsea's Argentine international midfielder. The reported fee is €130 million. While the exact timing of the offer has not been set, City's management assures that discussions on personal terms will not be an issue. Fernández is said to have even given his approval for the transfer, according to Nicolo Schira. Chelsea, in need of offensive reinforcements, could therefore lose their Argentine international. The London club is already looking for a replacement, including in goal, where Emiliano Martínez is also on the Blues' radar.

Other ongoing or potential transfers

Several other transfers could be finalized before the end of the transfer window. Tottenham has completed a one-year loan deal with an option to buy for Omar Marmoush, coming from Manchester City. The 23-year-old Egyptian player will join London after a medical examination and the signing of documents. Barcelona, for its part, is set to officially announce the arrival of goalkeeper Dominik Livaković from Fenerbahçe. The 31-year-old Croatian player has already joined the Catalan club and is expected to undergo a medical examination before signing his contract. The transfer fee has not been disclosed. Meanwhile, Liverpool has resumed talks with PSG regarding Bradley Barcola. The English club is attempting once again to reach an agreement before the transfer window closes. The two clubs had already exchanged proposals earlier in the transfer window. Finally, Newcastle United has reached an agreement with Manchester City for the transfer of Nico González. The 23-year-old Spanish midfielder will join St James' Park for an initial fee of £48 million, with an additional £4 million in potential bonuses. Other rumors are also circulating: Aston Villa has made an offer to Crystal Palace for Jean-Philippe Mateta, but the bid remains below the London club's expectations. Juventus, disappointed by the performances of one of its players, is now interested in Alexander Sørloth, an Atlético Madrid striker. Galatasaray continues to press for Rafael Leão despite AC Milan's high demands for the Portuguese player's transfer. Chelsea is also exploring the possibility of signing Emiliano Martínez to strengthen its squad, while Atlético Madrid has contacted Juventus regarding Jonathan David, though no negotiations have begun. Arsenal and Al Hilal are in the final stages of an agreement concerning Gabriel Martinelli, who could join the Saudi league for over €65 million.
