AS Monaco and Everton have sealed a massive deal this Monday, August 31, 2026, for the transfer of Folarin Balogun to the Premier League. The 25-year-old American international, who was trained at Arsenal, is leaving the Monegasque club after three seasons on the Rock.

A transfer worth €50 million, including bonuses

The deal, estimated at €50 million (€45 million fixed plus €5 million in bonuses), marks one of the biggest moves of the summer. Balogun, who scored 13 goals in 2025-2026 in Ligue 1, is returning to England where he began his career. The Toffees are banking on his profile to boost their attack, which has been lacking in finishing. The medical examination and the official signing of his long-term contract are expected in the coming hours. Everton is thus confirming its ambition to strengthen its offensive sector, one year after the departure of Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Arriving in the summer of 2023, Folarin Balogun leaves AS Monaco with an impressive record: 91 matches played, 31 goals scored, and 13 assists. His 2025-2026 season, highlighted by 13 goals, as well as his performances at the 2026 World Cup with the United States, convinced Everton to place their trust in him. The Monegasque club, which had signed the American for around €30 million in 2023, is thus making a significant capital gain on this transfer. Balogun, for his part, is writing a new chapter in his career in the Premier League after a notable stint in Ligue 1. With this transfer, Everton is reaffirming its desire to build a strong offensive structure. The club, currently undergoing a rebuilding phase under the guidance of Dan Ashworth, is aiming to regain its status as a major force in England. Balogun, versatile and with a good eye for goal, could establish himself as a key piece in the Toffees' attack. All that remains now is to finalize the contract within the set deadlines. The Premier League may soon be welcoming a new talented face, one accustomed to high-pressure international competitions.
