Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount is expected to miss Wednesday's friendly against Leeds at Croke Park in Dublin. Mount impressed in United's first three pre-season matches, playing as an attacking midfielder with new signing Andrey Santos positioned just behind him.

However, he sustained a foot injury in the opening minutes of the 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in Göteborg on Saturday. While manager Michael Carrick said he was substituted at half-time as a precaution and Mount walked normally after the game, he has not resumed training and is unlikely to feature against Leeds. It remains unclear whether he will be available for the final pre-season fixture against AC Milan, managed by Ruben Amorim, scheduled for Saturday in Wrocław. Argentinian defender Lisandro Martinez has been able to train since arriving at United's six-day camp in Ireland, having picked up an injury in the first half of the World Cup final. Meanwhile, English forwards Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo have also trained this week, though it is still uncertain whether Carrick will deem them fit enough to start against Leeds. This friendly will mark the first-ever meeting between two English football teams at the iconic Gaelic Athletic Association stadium, Croke Park. Fans can listen to the match live on BBC Sounds. United continues their pre-season schedule with a series of away fixtures, having already faced Liverpool FC, Real Madrid, and PSG. Michael Carrick’s side is aiming to prepare thoroughly ahead of the league season while managing injury absences. The club will also need to navigate uncertainty over the selection of key players for the Dublin clash. Mount’s availability remains in doubt as the club looks to strengthen its squad for the new season. The coming days will be crucial in assessing his recovery and determining his return to action.
