"99.9% champions". The phrase raised a few smiles, but it sums up the PSG situation perfectly. After their narrow victory over Brest (1-0) this weekend, Luis Enrique delivered this almost definitive figure. Yet mathematically, nothing is set in stone.

Six points ahead, a goal difference of +44 against Lens’ +29, and two matches remaining. For RC Lens to snatch a title that few now expect, they would need a thriller-worthy scenario: two heavy PSG defeats and two big Lens wins, allowing them to overturn the goal difference.

Unlikely? Yes. Impossible? Not entirely, especially since Paris and Lens face off directly this Wednesday (matchday 29). Then, on Sunday, PSG will host Paris FC while Lens travels to Lyon. Two high-pressure games.

Luis Enrique congratulates Lens… and already eyes Arsenal

Two days before the clash, Luis Enrique took time to praise Lens’ outstanding season: “We have to highlight what Lens have done all season—they’ve been at an incredible level. It’s been very tough for us; the last two championships we won were easier.”

A sincere tribute, but one that doesn’t hide PSG’s priorities. The Spanish coach admitted his players are already focused on the Champions League final on May 30 against Arsenal. A fixture he called “the most important match of this season.”

The question remains whether PSG will approach the end of the league with the same intensity. For Lens, hope is slim but real. And in football, sometimes that 0.1% is enough to move mountains.
