Free of any contract since the end of his stint at Toulouse, 2018 World Cup champion Djibril Sidibé has found a new club in Ligue 1. He has signed with Le Mans, despite offers from several French and foreign clubs.

The defender has signed a two-year contract, with an option for a third year. This signing comes after the successful completion of his medical examination, a mandatory step before any definitive commitment. Le Mans, newly promoted to Ligue 1, is banking on Sidibé's experience to strengthen its squad. The Normandy-based club managed to convince the defender, who chose to join this project over other offers. Le Mans is now looking to stabilize its squad to face the top-flight championship. Sidibé, accustomed to the highest levels of the game, will bring his expertise to a team in need of benchmarks after its promotion to the elite. The 2018 World Cup winner with the French national team, Djibril Sidibé is thus leaving Toulouse after a season without a club. His defensive profile, combining skill and experience, was highly sought after in the transfer market. Several clubs, both in France and abroad, had expressed interest in the player. Le Mans ultimately succeeded in luring him, offering a fresh start to a player who has made his mark in French football history. His arrival could bolster the club's credibility in a demanding league.
